Kanye West and JAY-Z's relationship has been rocky, to say the least. Once considered hip-hop's most powerful duos, the longtime friends had a highly publicized fall-out. The two would go on to trade subtle and not-so-subtle jabs on stage and in their music. There were also reports that the rappers were involved in a legal dispute, in which Kanye claimed he was owed millions of dollars from JAY's streaming service Tidal.
Though the beef had settled within the last two years, many fans came to accept that The Throne reunion was unlikely. But that all changed this weekend, when Ye and JAY were spotted at Diddy's star-studded 50th birthday celebration. They seemed to be on good terms, they were smiling, shaking hands, and even posed for some friendly photos. But there were a few pictures in the batch where JAY was standing alongside Diddy, Pharrell, and Kanye, looking all kinds of uncomfortable. And another Hov meme was born.
50 Cent—of course—was one of the first people to poke fun at the image, sharing it on Instagram with the caption: "This is exactly why I ask, who all gonna be over there??"
Sources told TMZ that Kanye and JAY have settled their legal battle; however, this photo led fans to believe there's still some lingering tension—especially on JAY's end. Though it's likely JAY was simply putting on a straight face for the cameras—as Diddy, Pharrell, and Kanye are doing in this photograph—social media users couldn't help but follow in Fif's footsteps and have some fun with the picture.
