While ASAP Rocky hasn't yet incorporated moments from Wednesday's impeachment hearing proceedings into a new piece of sonic art, Stephen Colbert's Late Show has already taken an early stab at exactly that.

As you surely know by now, Rocky's name was mentioned multiple times during comments from Gordon Sondland, the U.S. ambassador to the European Union who—among other things—recalled a July 26 phone call he had with Mr. Fuckface.

"I think we primarily discussed ASAP Rocky."

"It's true that the president speaks loudly at times and it's also true I think we primarily discussed ASAP Rocky," Sondland said. "It's true that the president likes to use colorful language. Anyone who has met with him for any reasonable amount of time knows this."

And that wasn't the only Rocky mention. The one-minute Late Show remix of Rocky's Skepta-featuring 2018 track "Praise the Lord (Da Shine)" puts those mentions to good use by incorporating them into select moments from the song's third verse. See the results up top, then revisit the original "Praise the Lord" below.

The Late Show bit notably arrives on the heels of some impeachment hearing-inspired mentions of "Praise the Lord" from MSNBC's Ari Melber, who noted Wednesday that "there are verses" that would apply to the situation:

Sondland testifies that his memory was refreshed when other witnesses recalled Trump discussing A$AP Rocky on the call.

Now there are verses on “praise the lord” that apply here, but we don’t even have time for that right now.
