Selena Gomez returns with her new single "Lose You to Love Me."

The 27-year-old singer announced the song on social media last week, sharing a snippet, lyrics, and official cover art. It's unclear if the track is a one-off or single off Gomez's long-awaited third studio album, which was reportedly completed over the summer.

"I have to do, like, a few finishing things with [the album], but I'm just relieved," she said during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. "It took me four years now to even feel at a good place with this album, and it's just because I had such huge moments that happened in my life personally that [it was like] how was I going to capture that and how was I actually going to feel good about what I was saying? So, I kept going and I'm relieved now."

Gomez's last album was 2015's Revival. Since then, the singer-songwriter has been very vocal about her personal issues, including a lupus diagnosis, as well as her struggles with anxiety and depression. Shortly after announcing her social media hiatus last year, Gomez reportedly suffered an "emotional breakdown" and was subsequently admitted into a psychiatric facility. She returned to social media in early 2019, thanking fans for their unwavering support:

“This song was inspired by many things that have happened in my life since releasing my last album," Gomez said of the new single. "I thought it was important to share the music, as I know many can relate to the fact that the road to self-discovery generally comes through the scars in one’s life. I want people to feel hope and to know you will come out the other side stronger and a better version of yourself."

You can listen to "Lose You to Love Me" now on Apple Music and via Spotify below. Gomez also shared a Sophie Muller-directed video for the track that was shot on an iPhone 11 Pro. Check it out up top. Stay tuned as more information about Gomez's third studio album rolls through.
