Last year, it was announced that a Gucci Mane biopic was officially in production. There's still no tentative release date for the project, which is based on Gucci's best-selling autobiography, but Paramount Pictures and Imagine Entertainment are still attached to produce. In a chat with Ebro to discuss his new album Woptober II, Guwop offered an update on the project and suggested who should play him.

"I would like to do it, but you know I'm open to somebody else doing it as well," he explained when asked who should play him. "But I feel like I could do it." When pressed further for who he'd like if he can do it himself, Gucci continued, "The guy who plays the lead character in Snowfall, I think he's dope." That's assumedly 28-year-old British actor Damson Idris, but he's also interested in 45-year-old Omari Hardwick taking on the role, too.

"I feel like Ghost should play me at the end," he said, referring to Hardwick's character in Power. He has the story in mind as two separate parts, with each actor portraying him at a different age. "We're still writing the script," he said when asked how it was all coming along.

Gucci Mane recently dropped his Woptober II album, which featured appearances from the likes of Megan Thee Stallion, DaBaby, and Lil Baby. Watch his full interview with Ebro above.
