Taylor Swift, Rita Ora Back Bebe Rexha After She Blasts Music Industry for Ageism

The 29-year-old singer says she was told she "was getting too old" for the music industry.

Bebe Rexha has called out the music industry for being ageist, which prompted support from several other musicians.

“I recently had a MALE music executive tell me that I was getting too old and that my brand was ‘confusing,’” Rexha wrote in the caption of her body-positive selfie. “Because... I’m a songwriter and I post sexy pics on my Instagram and that’s not what female songwriters are suppose to do, especially for my age. I’m 29. I’m fed up with being put in a box.”

Taylor Swift replied to the post, writing, “DRAG THEM. 29 YEAR OLDS UNITE,” while Rita Ora commented, “My sexy songwriting [queen] You are beautiful, getting sexier with age and your talent SINGS for itself. Keep making those rules.”

The Chainsmokers, Ne-Yo, Tinashe, Lauren Jauregui, X Ambassadors, and Jamie Lynn Spears also backed the singer with supportive messages.
