Childish Gambino dropped by 21 Savage's Lollapalooza set on day 2 of the Chicago fest, surprising fans with a run-through of their 2018 collab "Monster."

The crowd was clearly into the sudden drop-in from Donald Glover, who gave his own performance later Friday night. He showed up to Lolla in a sling, which might have worried people looking forward to his set. After all, Gambino has had to cancel festival appearances over injuries before. But he descended the pyramid staircase deftly while rapping his verse from the i am > i was track, and fan-shot videos prove they loved it.

He didn't wear a sling in that set, opting instead for a typical Gambino concert outfit of drawstring pants and nothing else. Forbes described his performance as somewhat religious:

"With a black-robed choir of around five or seven singers to support him, and a variety of dancers of different sizes, he told a narrative of summertime and kicked the night off with 'Altavista,' as he stood in a tower in the middle of the crowd with a single, white spotlight drowning him in light. Someone in the crowd remarked that, with his thick, curly hair, bushy beard and shirtless, linen pants, while walking out of the lights toward the stage, he 'looked like Jesus.'"

The festival runs for two more days and folks who can't make it out to Grant Park can watch a livestream below.
