DaBaby continues to live up to the hype.
When XXL revealed this year's Freshmen list, for the first time in a while the internet was pleased by the publication's picks. As a result, there was much anticipation to see how their respective favorites would hold up against the competition when the cyphers dropped. And DaBaby did not disappoint.
Although he previewed this verse on Instagram in April, it's important to note that this is a cypher and not a freestyle. Meaning, the rapper can present whatever verse the instrumental moves them to spit.
It just so happens that DaBaby decided to capitalize on the traction created when he first previewed the bars by debuting the complete verse. Despite hearing it before, fans were still excited by DaBaby's content and now-familiar flow.
While DaBaby played cleanup for this cypher, Megan Thee Stallion loaded the bases for his grand slam. Megan was the only woman featured in this cypher, but she proved how talented a rapper she is by using her rapid, staccato flow to rip through the beat. Her performance only furthered the praise for the Great Stallion, proving that she's here to stay.
Joining DaBaby and Megan Thee Stallion in the cypher were Seattle's Lil Mosey and Jacksonville's YK Osiris.
