Shadow Master MC has become a prominent figure in Chicago's music scene, having hosted the city's longest-running open mic as well as co-founding a youth art center in the Englewood neighborhood. Years after giving back to his city, the rapper—legal name Simeon Norfleet Sr.—is asking the public for help.
Shadow Master and his family have found themselves in financial straits, due to the recent deaths of his mother, nephew, and fiancée Falana Bradford, who suffered a fatal heart attack on July 10. The rapper and his family have launched a GoFundMe campaign in which they humbly ask for donations to cover funeral costs and other service-related expenses. Bradford left behind a large family, including three daughters, two grandchildren, aunts, uncles, and her parents.
According to the crowd-funding page, the money raised will go toward Bradford's funeral service and to her daughters.
