Cardi B, Drake, and Beyoncé Lead 2019 BET Awards Nominations

Cardi's up for seven at this year's ceremony, which goes down next month at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Cardi B leads the 2019 BET Awards contenders with seven nominations.

The full list of nods dropped Friday, with the ensuing ceremony set for June 23 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Drake also had a strong showing with 5 nominations, with a three-way tie—Beyoncé, J. Cole, and Travis Scott—rounding out the top nominees with four each, respectively.

In a statement touting the awards show's nearly two-decade legacy, BET Head of Programming Connie Orlando congratulated this year's honorees.

"From Michael Jackson and James Brown busting dance moves together to Monique paying homage to Beyoncé in an unforgettable dance number to BET reuniting the Fugees, we have set the tone for what cool looks like," Orlando said Friday. "This year we are even more so committed to continuing to create the unforgettable moments that have made the BET Awards the preeminent celebration of black culture."
