Chart-topper and noted genre agnostic Lil Nas X has his sights set on getting booted from another chart. The rapper behind "Old Town Road" just shared a snippet of a new, rock-leaning song with Ryan Tedder and poked the chartmakers who helped turn his single into the No. 1 song in the country

"Y'all think they gone let me on the rock charts?" he asked when he shared a clip of himself lip-syncing the song from his upcoming debut album. X went on to say that the song is called "Bring U Down" and focuses on people trying to hinder a rising star

bring u down. it’s from the perspective of people who try to ruin other ppls career when they see them on the rise. https://t.co/PBmKz9CcXM

The selfie singalong has been Lil Nas X's preferred way of promoting the album, which doesn't yet have a release date. He's shared several videos of himself acting out snippets from as-yet released songs.

Only X knows when we'll get to hear the full studio versions of these tracks, but all signs and Nas' Twitter point toward an album dropping in the summer.

think imma drop the album this summer
