Following the airing of Surviving R. Kelly, plenty of people assumed legal actions would be taken against the R&B singer. But Kelly's most recent legal trouble involved building code violations for illegally using his Chicago studio as a residence and building out the studio without the appropriate permits. The legal backlash doesn't confront Kelly's history of sexual abuse, but Chicago officials have released photos of Kelly's studio, where his alleged “sex cult” took place.

The Chicago studio was featured in the Lifetime series and allegedly used as the site for many of his sexual abuse encounters with underage women. TMZ posted 13 photos of the scene released by the Chicago Dept. of Buildings on Wednesday. One of the images shows a chiropractors' bench near a keyboard, and another shows boxes of household decor in addition to the long staircase, presumably at the entrance.

A judge today restricted the hours of access for the studio/warehouse rented by R. Kelly to 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (despite it not being zoned for such use, according to the city). Several photos from last week's inspection were also released. https://t.co/linwbXKtRs pic.twitter.com/AdFDX3nq7r

As a result of the police's visit, Kelly was issued 66 violations for allegedly living in the studio and building saunas and bars within the space. Additionally, he is being fined as much as $33,000 to $66,000 per day as long as the violations remain. According to Kelly, he only used the bedroom setup when he was stuck in the studio late at night recording.

An unnamed source has claimed that Kelly never lived in the studio, but a judge has ordered that Kelly remove his personal belongings from the space and restrict his hours there from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
