A Venice-based artist paid tribute to Mac Miller with a massive mural of the late rapper playing the piano. The piece by Gustavo Zermeño, Jr. features the rapper looking out at passers-by alongside a top-down image of his tatted up hands floating over piano keys.

Zermeño said that Mac had a particularly profound impact on his life in a post to Instagram.

"On the inside, I'm outside, All the time! Music is a big part of my life but Mac’s music is on a whole nother level for me," he wrote. "Thank you to everyone that helped make this project happen! It feels amazing to be able to create things I love and truly believe in."

The mural went up to celebrate Mac's birthday. Zermeño joined artists like Thundercat, Juicy J, and Ariana Grande in paying tribute to Miller.

It's far from the first time that a piece from the artist has caused a stir. Zermeño raised eyebrows when he made a mural of Lebron James looking up at a pantheon of Lakers greats sitting atop the Staples Center. And he's painted Mac before, too.
