The second coming of Uzi can't be stopped.

At this point, I feel like I've aged eons since we first learned of the existence of the presumably life-altering Eternal Atake.

Well-publicized spat with surviving Heaven's Gate cult members and snippets aside, we don't know very much about Lil Uzi Vert's upcoming sophomore album for certain. In his new collab with Shabazz PBG, however, arguably the 666iest among us may have offered a clue on the perplexing hype strategy behind the Luv Is Rage 2 follow-up.

In the third verse of Shabazz PBG's "Shells," Uzi seemingly ponders aloud how he might be able to get out of his current record deal:

Tryna figure out how I'm gon' get out my deal
I'm a bad boy, a reverend, I feel like I'm Mase
Your bitch with me but she gotta leave by 8
Cos you know Lil Uzi do not walk wit no cape

Luv Is Rage 2 was released via Atlantic and Generation Now in August 2017. During the accompanying press run, Uzi teased that he had immediate plans for several follow-up projects that—at the time, at least—sounded quite near the finish line. Both a Marilyn Manson-assisted rock album and a Playboi Carti collab tape were mentioned, though it's still unclear whether Eternal Atake is one of those or an entirely different project altogether.

The most recent update on Eternal Atake was a promising one, with Uzi informing fans that the project was indeed finished. "I'm finally done with that joint," he told the crowd at his Lil Uzi Vert & Friends show in Philly earlier this month.
