Kanye West Apologizes After Being Called Out by ‘Cher’ Actor for Using Phone During Show

“Please pardon my lack of etiquette,” Kanye wrote in response to actor Jarrod Spector on Twitter.

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian were at the Broadway opening of the musical The Cher Showin New York City on Monday. Apparently, West wasn’t paying much attention during the performance, and got called out for his behavior.

Actor Jarrod Spector took to social media to call Kanye out for being on his phone during the play. 

“Hey @kanyewest so cool that you’re here at @TheCherShow!” Spector, who plays Sonny Bono in the production, wrote via Twitter. “If you look up from your cell phone you’ll see we’re doing a show up here. It’s opening night. Kind of a big deal for us. Thanks so much.”

Kanye eventually caught wind of the tweet and sent out an apology.

“To Cher and the Cher show team the dynamics of Cher and Sonny’s relationship made Kim and I grab each other’s hand and sing ‘I got you babe’ please pardon my lack of etiquette,” he wrote in a since-deleted tweet. “We have so much appreciation for the energy you guys put into making this master piece.”

TMZreports a source as saying the reason Kanye was on his phone during the show was because he “loved the production and was taking notes on his phone.”

The source continued: “He thought the show was so beautiful that, even though he and Kim were scheduled to leave during intermission, they pushed their flight back so they could catch the end of the show.”

In other Kanye related news, the artist got fans excited by tweeting out “Throne 2” in response to a tweet from JAY-Z explaining lyrics of his that make reference to ‘Ye on the Meek Mill track “What's Free.”
