For me, one of the most stokedness-inducing aspects of 2018 has been the continued influence of the modern goth aesthetic on the zeitgeist. Uzi, for example, routinely rocks inverted crosses and incorporates them into his stage design. Thugger's video for the Uzi-featuring "Up," directed by Millicent Hailes, was a pop goth dream. Now, that vibe continues with Baby Goth's new video for "Swimming."

In a comment to Complex, Baby Goth spoke a bit on the welcomed inspiration behind the new Christopher Scholar-directed video for the Trippie Redd and Lil Xan collab. "Alice in Wonderland was one of my favorite movies growing up," Goth said. "Blessed to be able to recreate something so close to my soul and with such good company." Spending time with Trippie and Xan during the shoot, Goth added, consisted solely of "good vibes and good weed."

"Swimming," produced by DJ Fu, has a home on Baby Goth's upcoming self-titled EP that she says will also incorporate lyrical nods to medical weed, sexuality, and the BDSM community. "I'm bisexual so I want to advocate for the LGBTQ community," she explained. "All of those things will be big subjects in my music and video."
