Ty Dolla $ign, Skrillex, and Mariah Carey teamed up for "The Distance," the latest single off of Carey's upcoming album Caution

Skrillex sublimates his urge for big drops and bigger wubs in service of a groove that wouldn't sound out of place on any "Lo-Fi Beats to Study and Relax" mix or chillwave compilation. The result is a smooth and bass-heavy beat that can repeat endlessly while Mimi waxes about being in it for the long haul.

Ty drops in for an unremarkable verse about not listening to outsiders who don't know about this here. His quick and romantic appearance does exactly as much work as it needs to, providing the other half of the song's surprising "us." Dolla $ign has been on a bit of an A-lister streak. He's had an absolutely massive 2018, hopping on projects with Jeremih and plotting out an album with Kanye West

"The Distance" is the third single we've heard from Caution. The diva and meme queen has already shared the light-hearted "GTFO" and the Mustard-produced "With You."

Caution is Mariah Carey's 15th studio album. It's her first since 2014's Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse and it drops on November 16. While Mariah spent some time away from her Las Vegas residency to work on the record, it looks like she plans to restart her show The Butterfly Returns at the Colosseum in Caesar's Palace this coming February.

Earlier this year, the notoriously guarded singer opened up about living with bipolar disorder. "I guess my depressive episodes were characterized by having very low energy. I would feel so lonely and sad—even guilty that I wasn’t doing what I needed to be doing for my career," she said in an interview with People

The songs we've heard from Caution don't seem to be in a new, vulnerable vein, however. Songs like "The Distance" are more of the same (read: smashes) that made Carey one of the best-selling women artists of all-time.
