The Sound Labs program will see King Push rewarding 12 Greater Los Angeles-area artists with personal listening sessions. Additionally, the chosen 12 will receive a pair of GA tickets to ComplexCon, luxury-level transportation, and some Adidas Originals goodies.
Of those 12, five will ultimately walk away with access to the application for the coveted Sound Labs Grant. With this honor, the elected artist will gain what Adidas describes as "invaluable resources in the form of professional mentorship." Studio time and marketing/business development are also included. Only one grant will be rewarded.
The initial group of 12 will be chosen by a team of people who know what they're talking about, including Scott Vener (OTHERtone), Fam Rothstein (Childish Gambino), and more. For a shot at all this, head to the official Adidas Sound Labs site and submit your music.
Also announced on Wednesday, Adidas Originals has decided to add ease to on-site shopping for ComplexCon attendees with the launch of an augmented reality shop within the official Complex app. All weekend, prospective buyers will be able to shop on the app while also gaining access to brand ambassador meet-and-greets and more. Look for a how-to guide on the ins and outs of the AR shop starting Oct. 29.
As for this year's ComplexCon lineup, you already know it's a stacked one. Future, Rae Sremmurd, Vince Staples, Tinashe, Lil Baby, City Morgue, and more are set to perform. Speakers include Jaden Smith, Don C, and Lena Waithe. This year’s Adidas Creatives partners include Pharrell Williams, Snoop Dogg, and (of course) Pusha-T.
It all goes down Nov. 3-4 in Long Beach, California. For additional info, go here.
