Mariah Carey, legend, is back with a new one.
Thursday, Carey released her new Nineteen85-produced cut "GTFO," taken from her upcoming new album. "I wanted to give my fans and everyone a first listen that wasn't so serious," Carey said of the new song. "I've had so much fun making this album, and I wanted the first moment to reflect that light-hearted spirit."
A video for the track, directed by Sarah McColgan (who co-directed Charli XCX's "Boys"), drops Friday. "With You," the album's official first single, is set for release Oct. 5.
Earlier this week, Carey wrapped her 2018 run of The Butterfly Returns shows in Las Vegas. The Colosseum-set residency will resume this coming February.
Carey's most recent studio album was the 2014 Def Jam release Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse. The 14-cut album featured guest appearances from Miguel, Wale, Fabulous, and more. Last year, Carey inked a partnership deal between her own Butterfly MC Records and Epic for her new album. Per a press release sent out Thursday, Carey is said to be putting the "finishing touches" on the new batch of songs, which are set for release before year's end.
