Following CRSSD's Spring 2018 Festival, they will be taking over Waterfront Park in Downtown San Diego from Sept. 29-30 for the Fall 2018 edition of the event. The lineup features a number of captivating artists in the electronic scene, including Nina Kraviz, Duke Dumont, and John Digweed, as well as a special back-to-back set from AC Slater and Jack Beats, two artists who have charted similar paths in the realm of bass music on opposite sides of the Atlantic.
Inspired by the darker tinges of UK funky and grime, Slater and Jack have both injected their club-rocking kicks with some sinister basslines. Slater even gave it a name: night bass, which he's also named his imprint, where Jack Beats has also released material. The beats are infectious and sound like the future and its influences at the same time. Intoxicating material.
To get ready for their upcoming back-to-back set at CRSSD, AC and Jack locked in on a special mix. Just over 31 minutes, this set feels like a quick primer on current night bass sounds. Featured acts include Sinden, Flava D, and others, as well as material from AC and Jack, including a currently-unidentified banger from Jack Beats and Taiki Nulight.
