As Tay-K remains behind bars on murder and robbery charges, one of his six alleged accomplices has reached a deal with prosecutors.
According to the Star-Telegram, 22-year-old Ariana Bharrat has agreed to testify against the rapper as well as two other co-defendants: Sean Robinson and Jalen Bell. As part of the deal, Bharrat will avoid capital murder charges by pleading guilty to aggravated robbery in exchange for a 25-year prison sentence.
Megan Holt, another defendant in the case, struck a similar deal earlier this year. The Star-Telegram reports the 21-year-old suspect has agreed to testify truthfully against her co-defendants in exchange for her capital murder charge being waved. Holt is also expected to plead guilty to aggravated robbery; however, she will receive a 20-year sentence.
The charges stem from a July 2016 incident that left 21-year-old Ethan Walker dead. Tay-K and his alleged accomplices are accused of entering the victim’s home in Mansfield, Texas, where they robbed and fatally shot him.
The 18-year-old rapper is also facing charges in the brutal attack of 65-year-old Skip Pepe.
Tay-K is now being held at Tarrant County Jail. He was recently slapped with another charge after he was caught hiding a phone inside his cell.
“They asked him to remove it. That’s when he attempted to throw it into the toilet to destroy the phone,” David McClelland, Chief of Staff for the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, told the Star-Telegram. “When they tried to take the phone away from him, he got a little angry and got into an altercation with one of our jailers.”
