Slim K 'Purple Children 8'

You gotta love when the stars align like this. Aug. 8 is the eighth day of the eighth month of 2018, and is the day that The Chopstars' own Slim K drops Purple Children 8. The slow-and-low mixtape style has its roots in the city of Houston, and has taken the world by storm, with Slim K, DJ Candlestick, OG Ron C, and the crew providing their purple takes on some of the biggest artists of today.

The key to the Purple Children series, though, is that Slim K has been on it, early. He prides Purple Children on bringing the chopped, not slopped style to the next generation. Slim K's the guy who's made it a point to chop the likes of Lil Uzi Vert, Chance the Rapper, Travis Scott, Partynextdoor, and more, before they were household names. On Purple Children 8, it's no different; while the tape kicks off with Drake's "Nonstop," you'll find a number of chops here of Valee, Juice WRLD, Smokepurpp, Yung Bans, 6ix9ine, and Kodie Shane, among more established names like Kanye West, Sade, and even Skepta.

The flavorful cover art up top is from none other than Rob Gallardo, who's part of ASAP Rocky's AWGE. Enjoy that while turning up to this Slim K Slowdown. Press play and chop out.
