As fans anxiously wait for the arrival of Lil Wayne’s long overdue album Tha Carter V, a new song from the Young Money boss has surfaced via DatPiff titled “Quasimodo.”

On the track, Tunechi raps about trapping and evokes his protégé Drake’s infamous motto YOLO:

I pull the cash out scream Y.O.L.O

Wayne has appeared on multiple features this year as he wrapped up his legal battle against Cash Money Records and Birdman, eventually reaching a settlement and freeing himself from the label back in June. But now, the half-a-decade wait for Tha Carter V seems to finally be coming to an end.

Weezy offered fans an update on the album, which was once given a 2013 release date, during a show in Miami. “Just to let y’all know I had a meeting today, it wasn’t a long meeting," he teased the audience. "Just so y’all know the meeting was about the release date of Tha Carter fucking V.” He didn't share much more information about the forthcoming release, so it’s unclear if this new track is from the project or just a loosie, but it does indicate that we should be hearing Tha Carter V sooner rather than later.

Wayne will reportedly be dropping the new album through Young Money and Universal Music. Listen to “Quasimodo” above.
