Drake Threw a Shot at Kanye West While Performing "Know Yourself" in Chicago

During Saturday's Chicago stop of the Aubrey & the Three Migos Tour, Drake decided to spice up his performance of "Know Yourself" by changing up the lyrics for what sounds like a clear shot at Kanye West. The jab comes in the Kanye mention during the song's first verse: "Then Kanye dropped, it was polos and backpacks."

In Chicago, Drake rapped, "Then Kanye flopped, it was polos and backpacks." There were scarce audible boos, but the audience chanted along as Drake reached the song's main catchphrase.

Drake isn't new to calling out hometown heroes and institutions: He notably rapped, "You see they telling lies on Hot 97 that's how it goes/I told 'em fire Funk Flex and then I'll come and do your show," during a 2016 freestyle at Madison Square Garden.

Of course, the more recent drama is between Drake and Kanye West/Pusha-T. Though Drake never dropped a response track to "The Story of Adidon," many have interpreted some lyrics on Scorpion to be directed at West. Lines from July's "Behind Barz" freestyle (“They wanna link when they got no chunes/They too worried about selling out shoes") have also raised eyebrows.

West's latest album Ye was his eighth straight No. 1, pushing 208,000 equivalent album units in its first week and charting all of its songs in the Hot 100. In comparison, Drake's Scorpion totaled 732,000 equivalent album units in its debut frame, became the first album to hit 1 billion global streams in a week, and had No. 1s in "God's Plan," "Nice for What," and "In My Feelings."
