Lauryn Hill has canceled several dates of the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill 20th Anniversary Tour, HipHopDX reports.
The tour kicked off earlier this month, with five shows already performed. Of 22 dates left, five have been affected. Four concerts have been outright canceled: one in St. Petersburg, Florida, two in North Carolina (Charlotte and Raleigh, to be specific), and one in Virginia Beach (the latter had already been postponed from July 5 to Aug. 16, according to the Virginian-Pilot.) The Miami show has been postponed from July 31 to Oct. 15.
In a statement, Live Nation blamed “unforeseen production issues” for the cancellations. Tickets will be refunded at the point of purchase.
Even the concerts Hill didn’t cancel have been marked by disappointed fans. At a recent stop in Toronto, Hill reportedly showed up an hour late and performed for just 45 minutes. Even then, she spent some of that time onstage criticizing her live band and tech crew and rushed through 10 songs, Exclaim reported. The concert ended with her remix of Drake's "Nice for What," which interpolates her song "Ex-Factor" on its chorus.
Of course, Hill has a well recorded history of showing up late to concerts. Many of the same fans who were upset over the less than satisfactory Toronto concert recognized this, suggesting that a short, postponed, or even canceled Lauryn Hill show is merely par for the course.

Hill announced the summer tour back in April as a celebration of the 20th anniversary of her multiplatinum solo album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Just before the tour was set to begin, Hill shared that she would bring out high-profile guests such as Nas, M.I.A., Santigold, ASAP Rocky, SZA, Big Boi, De La Soul, and Busta Rhymes, among others.
Assuming other shows aren’t canceled, the tour will continue make its way through most of the U.S., including Atlanta, Nashville, Los Angeles and New Orleans. The Miami concert, now postponed to mid-October, will mark the end of the tour.
