Desiigner is back with more music in the form of his new song "Shoot." Produced by duo Play-N-Skillz, "Shoot" is accompanied by a foreboding video that mixes snippets of the rapper dancing around with Kubrickian slow zooms of Desiigner cleaning his pool and wielding numerous knives. Watch it up top.
It's very much in a similar tone to his previous music, but it's no less addictive. The video, however, takes a slightly different approach than the visuals for "Hood," which was released back in May following the drop of his L.O.D. EP. The video for "Hood" reflects on Desiigner's childhood, before showing the stark reality of his neighborhood.
Ever since the success of "Panda," which went No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2016, the G.O.O.D. Music signee has been quietly working on his long-awaited debut studio album. It's unclear if "Shoot" is expected to be on the currently untitled album or not, but if it is, it sounds as if the record is shaping up to be pretty interesting. Mike Dean, who has worked extensively with Desiigner in the past, seems to currently be busy working with Travis Scott on his highly anticipated AstroWorld album at the moment, though.
