Pusha-T Releases New Album 'DAYTONA' Featuring Kanye West and Rick Ross

The album includes features from Rick Ross and Kanye West.

The wait is over as Pusha-T has released his highly-anticipated, seven-track album DAYTONA.

King Push’s album marks the first of a slew of releases from G.O.O.D. Music that will drop over the next few weeks. In the midst of the rollout, label head Kanye West has been all over the news, particularly due to his political views, something Push commented on earlier this week on The Angie Martinez Show. The G.O.O.D. Music president revealed that he doesn’t exactly agree with Kanye.

“It’s just a stance that I have. I’m totally against it," he said. “To me, the prison reform thing is so dear and near to me, right? It’s something I know we can’t even tackle with Trump. So, there’s nothing I even want to hear in regards to [Trump]—a point of view, anything. I’m cool. We’re at a loss already.”

Push added: “When the conversation comes up, and [Kanye and I are] engaged in conversation, I just say what it is that I feel, regardless of what it’s about. Other than that, no, I’m not just bringing up political conversations. And he knows not to bring up political conversations with me. It’s just not happening.”

However, Pusha is not one to completely steer away from controversy. On Thursday, he revealed that he did indeed take a shot at Drake on DAYTONA album cut “Infrared,” where Push raps, “It was written like Nas but it came from Quentin.” Pusha has been known to throw subliminals at Drake in the past, so it isn’t a surprise if you’re well-versed in Push’s music.

He divulged more about the song in a new interview with Genius, where he admitted that he’s just speaking his truth. “I mean, you know, I feel like everybody thought that ‘Two Birds, One Stone,’ you know, that was Pusha and Cudi-aimed, so on and so forth, and that was fine, you know what I’m saying?” he said, adding, “I heard it, I felt like, OK, I can't have an argument about how real I am. Let's not do that. If it's rap, let's let it be that. I'm just speaking my truth on this. I mean, I don't think it's anything disputable.”

The cover art for the album is a photo of Whitney Houston’s bathroom, which multiple news outlets published in 2012 after the singer was found dead in her bathtub. The rights to the photo set Kanye West back a cool $85,000.
