Earlier this year, G Herbo appeared on K104FM and dropped a tight freestyle over Three 6 Mafia’s “Who Run It,” which Drake apparently loved so much he DM’d Herbo demanding he drop a full, studio-produced version. Not only did Herbo come through, but other rappers like ASAP Rocky, 21 Savage, and even Bhad Bhabie followed suit with their own remixes.

It appears fellow Chi-Town rapper Montana of 300 has plans to drop his own remix, but is demanding $15,000 from his fans on GoFundMe to do so—which G Herbo is less than impressed by.

According to XXL, Montana of 300 launched the fundraising page on Monday, which as of this writing has raised around $1,000. It’s unclear how long he’ll keep this up, and if the financial goal will even be reached, but Herbo reacted to the news on social media without naming Montana directly:

According to Herbo, this is not a respectable move. “Oh man, ya’ll got rappers out here opening GoFundMe’s and shit for ‘Who Run It’s’ and shit,” he said. “What the fuck is going on?”

As for Montana, he maintains that the only reason he's even asking for cash is that it isn't worth stepping away from the production of his new album to spit a freestyle. "If you think I’m in NEED of $15K then u got life fucked up," he wrote in the description of his Instagram post. "I said I’m not TAKING TIME AWAY FROM WORKING ON MY ALBUM, to go work on what y’all begging me to go work on (a remix that I can’t profit financially off of) unless I get paid first."

If you think I’m in NEED of $15K then u got life fucked up. I said I’m not TAKING TIME AWAY FROM WORKING ON MY ALBUM, to go work on what y’all begging me to go work on (a remix that I can’t profit financially off of) unless I get paid first. I made this Go Fund Me to prove a point to a group chat. That Mfs don’t value things in life when u give it to them for free. All these bars and messages and free remixes and it’s a problem when a Mfs says “support me then”. This is proof that it’s easy n Free to ACT LIKE you rock with a mf, but when it’s time to support PHYSICALLY they can get offended, and even complain and hate. N Mfs been hoping I don’t remix shit because I shit on everybody else every time anyway. Nothing new for me. N everybody that donated gets free merchandise from @fgeclothing now. So that’s charity. I’m up at Chase bank right now paying taxes for my own businesses. And I’m cutting checks for 8 diff ppl a month helping them feed n provide for their families. I been a boss. Never been forced to put out a song I didn’t want to or work with any clown ass artists I didn’t want to. I been self made n self paid back when I was dumping pounds investing in my own music. The thing is I understand ppl, so with that being said, I understand why y’all are quick to hate on another man’s grind. If I showed y’all one of my accounts, I’d be getting out of my character and all the Mfs talking shit would be shitty af. But that’s not me. I’ll save all that flashing money the label loaned you shit up to y’all. And if I was hurting, I can call any label up n get a loan from them for this “PRAY FOR THE DEVIL” Album I’m about to drop. But I’m very comfortable financially so that and none of that soul selling is necessary. N don’t nobody else donate. We already got the names of who did and y’all be contacted. N for y’all Mfs that say dumb shit like “ALL HE DO IS MAKE REMIXES”...My “FIRE IN THE CHURCH” Album was #2 Album next to @champagnepapi “Views” Album. AND I’m finna make my next album be #1. Watch My Moves. “Even My Haters Taking Notes and got my shit on repeat. Life is a bitch and ppl change like the Bitch named Mystique.” - @montanaof300 #RapGod #SelfMade #SelfPaid

He continued in a quite lengthy response to the recent criticisms, with an attempt to contextualize his activity as clearly as possible—even mentioning Drake.
