Cozz is gearing up to drop his long-anticipated album, Effected, and the Dreamville rapper sounds as hungry as ever. Swinging by the Power 106 studios for a visit with the L.A. Leakers on Thursday, he dropped an impressive four-minute freestyle that was somehow vicious and totally smooth all at once.
Two years after dropping his last project, Nothing Personal, Cozz started 2018 off strong by sharing a piano-heavy single called "Questions" near the top of the year. Making up for lost time, he followed this with "Ignorant Confidence" and the Curren$y-assisted "Badu" to round out the month.
Since emerging with Cozz and Effect back in 2014, the South Central rapper has delivered a series of impressive freestyles. At SXSW 2016, he stopped by Pigeons & Planes' backyard for a quick 90-second session over Mike Jones' 2006 single, "Back Then."
Cozz has yet to reveal the release date or tracklist for Effected, but he promises that information will arrive soon. In the meantime, you can check out the project's cover artwork below.
