On Saturday night, Childish Gambino performed at New York City's Irving Plaza for a special pre-Grammys show. Performing songs off his most recent album, 2016's "Awaken, My Love!," it looks like Glover delivered a gorgeous set with his band. During the show's encore, however, he treated those in attendance to something extra special. Instead of just performing one of his hits, he offered up a fresh freestyle that sounds like it could've fit right in with the rest of the funky "Awaken, My Love!"

The number takes on a very jam-based approach. Instead of rapping, Childish Gambino shows off his exceptional singing talents. Considering how he's been nominated for Album of the Year and Best Urban Contemporary Album at the Grammys, it makes sense that he'd celebrate the occasion in style. "Redbone" is also nominated for Record of the Year, Best R&B Song, and Best R&B Performance.

Glover is expected to perform as Childish Gambino tonight at the Grammys, which will take place in New York and air on CBS. He's definitely got a big few months coming up in general, and he'll have even more reason to celebrate what could be his best year yet if he gets a Grammy tonight.

Atlanta is due to premiere March 1 at 10 p.m. on FX, and Glover just recently inked a new record deal with RCA Records to release new music under the Gambino name—although we may not hear more music from him until 2019 at the earliest because of his various projects.  That's understandable: After all, Atlanta is one of the best shows on TV.
