Perhaps sensing the acute existential dread that comes with the annual December reminder that the ruthlessly deceptive Santa Claus is an utter fraud, Lil Uzi Vert teased new music. The Grammy nominee gave fans a clip of the untitled track on Instagram. He did not elaborate on when, if ever, we should expect to hear the final product.
Uzi appears to be working on multiple projects at once. The next chapter of Uzi currently counts a Paramore-influenced rock album, a punk-inspired collab project with Playboi Carti, and a sequel to Lil Uzi Vert vs. the World among its possibilities. We still have a couple weeks of 2017 left to burn through, so maybe Uzi is plotting to drop something from one of these new projects in the coming days.
Uzi is celebrating his breakout year with a holiday-themed mini-tour this month. A Very Uzi Christmas kicks off Dec. 15 in Washington D.C. before helping people forget about Santa-related disappointments in New York City, Boston, and Philadelphia. You should totally go.
Next month, Uzi—whose "XO TOUR Llif3" somehow got snubbed in the nominations—will infuse the 60th Annual Grammy Awards with some 666 energy in the Best New Artist category. Uzi's competition in the breakthrough-acknowledging category is Alessia Cara, Khalid, Julia Michaels, and SZA.
