The year of Uzi continues. After bagging a No. 1 album, a Grammy nomination, and a Marilyn Manson endorsement, Lil Uzi Vert has now been crowned the king of SoundCloud.
SoundCloud released the 2017 list of their Playback honorees, with Uzi's Luv Is Rage 2 taking the Top Album distinction. "We've amped up this year's list for a total of 17 categories that touch every corner of the SoundCloud ecosystem, from hip-hop, pop, dance and rock, to what's new, now and next in music culture," the streaming platform announced Friday. "This year's list celebrates the diverse creativity on the platform and within our community—everything from the buzziest tags in 2017 like ChillHop and Vaporwave, to the year's most creative cities."
Post Malone, Trippie Redd, Kehlani, Khalid, Marshmello, and Lil Pump join Uzi in the Artists Who Were on SoundCloud First and Owned the Internet in 2017 category. Uzi also rightfully snatched up the year's Top Rap/Hip-Hop Track with "XO TOUR Llif3."
Travis Scott, Chance the Rapper, Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, Justin Bieber, Linkin Park, SZA, Unlike Pluto, Ed Sheeran, and Logic also put numbers on SoundCloud's 2017 board.
