A security guard in California has struck up a lawsuit against Lil Wayne, alleging that the 34-year-old rapper punched him and threw a glass filled with alcohol at his face roughly a year ago.

Furthermore, the guard claims that the purported incident was a hate crime because Weezy yelled, "Fuck you white boy!" The plaintiff was reportedly working as a bouncer at the Hyde Club on West Hollywood's Sunset Strip at the time. TMZ states that the man says he felt physically threatened, but that he was trying to do his job controlling the flow of human traffic into the club when he was knocked to the ground by Lil Wayne's fist.

Representatives for Wayne have denied the bouncer's account of events.

The lawsuit has been filed against the rapper, his label, and the club. It is seeking damages for the assault and battery, in addition to a $25,000 civil penalty for the alleged hate crime.
