Here’s you chance to celebrate the holidays with DJ Khaled. Sort of.
This month, the 41-year-old artist/author/Snapchat king will star in The Keys of Christmas, a musical variety special presented by YouTube Red.
According to Variety, the program will feature an ensemble cast led by Mariah Carey and YouTube celebrity Rudy Mancuso, who will go “on a magical adventure” to discover the true meaning of the holiday season. The special will also include original music performances by Carey and Khaled, as well as Fifth Harmony, Ciara, Nicky Jam, and Boyce Avenue. It will also include a Mike Tyson cameo because, well, why not?
"Music is wildly popular on YouTube and we're excited to bring together some of the biggest names in music alongside some of the biggest stars on YouTube,” Ben Relles, the head of unscripted for YouTube Originals, said in a press release. “The musical icons and rising artists in The Keys of Christmas bring this new holiday tale to life.”
The Keys of Christmas is directed by the Grammy winning music-video director Dave Meyers, who has worked with everyone from Rihanna to Katy Perry to Pink. The special will air Dec. 19 exclusively on YouTube Red, a paid membership service that focuses on original content by top YouTube celebrities.
