Travi$ Scott’s Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight was released last week, and to many Travis fans’ dismay, it didn’t actually feature Brian McKnight. Well, Scott heard your wishes and delivers with a collaborative video featuring the R&B legend himself.
In a teaser he uploaded on his official YouTube page, Scott and McKnight share a one-minute clip of them chilling out to “One Last Cry," which is a single on his 1992 self-titled debut, on a hilltop overlooking Los Angeles. In a series of slow-motion scenes, McKnight is by a grand piano wearing all white. There are doves uncaged and flying into distance somewhere. And Scott looks like someone really broke his heart. It’s fucking amazing.
The video, titled “Bitch U Broke My Heart,” serves as a promo for Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight. You gotta give it up for Scott—he actually convinced McKnight to do this.
While Scott just gave us a new album, he’s been popping up on a ton of features lately. Ty Dolla $ign’s “3 Wayz”and Gucci Mane’s “Last Time” both show he’s expanding from his solo work.
There will be more Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight-related content in the coming months. Scott confirmed with DJ Whoo Kid that he’s working on a film for the project. In the meantime, check out the teaser video above.
