Though he's released a smattering of singles here and there, and hooked up with a few artists for a number of feature spots, it's been close to nine years now since Jay Electronica last dropped a full album. Based on a the man himself however, that long wait for new music from Jay Electronica may soon be over.

The Roc Nation signee, who gets asked on an almost constant basis about when his latest project might hit took to Twitter last night to thank all of his fans for their support and patience, and then advised them all to get Tidal.

to all those who have been patient with me and supported me over the years, thank you. And get #Tidal #AreYouWatchingClosely?

Could this be a true prelude to something more substantial? It's hard to say really. We've been burned by Jay so many times now when it comes to new music that he makes Frank Ocean's claims seem believable in comparison.

"Album soon come. Ask Bun B, he heard the album in its entirety. A thousand kisses to all of those who have supported me since Act I: Eternal Sunshine (The Pledge). I am grateful for your patience. I will not let any of you down. I promise. I will not let any of you down. I promise."

He wrote that in 2011.

On the other hand, in April he tweeted out about collaborating with Chance The Rapper and ended up guesting on the latter's song "How Great" from his latest, critically adored mix tape Coloring Book

What do you think? Do you believe Jay? Are we getting something new in the near future, or is he just blowing smoke again?
