By now, we're sure you're familiar with D.R.A.M. This week, his Beyoncé-approved breakout single "Cha Cha" has been the talk of the town, but maybe not for the right reasons. The leading single off of his March project #1EpicEP catapulted him to success and with that, he's had a first hand look at the perils of this industry, too. But let's be real: "Cha Cha" may have been the hit, but it's on his Bub Ruth and Gabe Niles-produced "$" that fans really got to know the Virginia artist.

Today, we're partnering with our friends over at Pigeons & Planes to premiere D.R.A.M.'s new video for "$," which got a bit of a remix thanks to Donnie Trumpet and his triumphant brass to accompany the piano ballad. On "$," the highs are high and the lows will tug at your heart strings. And thanks to director Nathan R. Smith and D.R.A.M.'s family, the visuals take us through the 27-year-old's life as his ode to following his dreams narrates the video. Lines like, "What the fuck was I put here for?/What the fuck is my purpose brain lurkin/My momma mad I ain't working/I feel worthless but when I'm on stage and workin I am perfect," take fans into his mindset as he's shown and proved his talents over the years, waiting for that big break.

It's equal parts nostalgic and inspiring, as it shows D.R.A.M. has put in work all to provide for his family and those who played crucial roles in his childhood, as you'll see in the video (Hi, baby D.R.A.M.!) Take a look into his world in the "$" video above, and get his GAHDAMN! EP which drops on Friday. Catch him on the Family Matters Tour alongside Chance the Rapper, Metro Boomin, and more.
