Brendan Philip is having a breakout year. Since releasing his self-titled EP on Fake Art/Dine Alone Records in May, the Toronto-based R&B innovator has proved his emotional electro vibes translate on stages big and small, whether he’s on a massive outdoor stage at Field Trip, or shutting down a more intimate venue like the Drake Underground during one of the best sets we saw at NXNE.

Brendan Philip is keeping it moving with a brand new music video for the enticing final cut from the EP. The video for “Wild Side” is an electro-R&B joyride, with Philip driving into the dusk accompanied only by a love interest and a barrage of fireworks.

Here’s what Brendan Philip had to say about the video:

“It's a movie in my mind, a sleazy Red Shoe Diaries vignette, or Baby Blue on City TV. Where it's the sex worker’s last night, and they get turned out more than they ever did before. ‘Wild Side’ is Americana dressed in a Canadian tux out for a groovy ride in an endless dark night. The ‘Wild Side’ clip is a night cruise with no destination while riding to the funk of the new black wave.”
