Lawyer Known for Representing Sex Abuse Victims Arrested for Alleged Possession of Child Pornography

Prominent attorney Michael T. Dolce, 53, was arrested and charged after federal agents executed a search warrant at his apartment last month.

A Florida lawyer known for his work in representing victims of sexual abuse was arrested last month for alleged possession of child pornography.

Per the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida, Michael T. Dolce, 53, was arrested after FBI agents carried out a search warrant at his residence in the West Palm Beach region. At that time, it’s alleged that Dolce was found to be “actively downloading child pornography using peer-2-peer software.” More specifically, a press release announcing Dolce’s arrest stated that nearly 2,000 images and videos were obtained from devices belonging to the lawyer.

A LinkedIn page that remained active at the time of this writing listed Dolce as a partner at Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll PLLC. According to the listing, he had been with the firm since November 2015 and was “nationally recognized” for his work in representing sex crime victims. In 2013, he appeared in the documentary Pursuit of Truth: Adult Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse Seeking Justice.

Complex has reached out to a rep for Cohen Milstein for comment. This story may be updated. At the time of this writing, Dolce was no longer featured on the firm’s site.

In a statement to regional outlet WPTV, a spokesperson said the firm was “stunned and saddened” by the accusations against Dolce. According to this same rep, Dolce was fired from the firm.

“We are focused on attending to the needs of our clients and staff and continuing to cooperate fully with the investigation,” the rep added.
