Before Donald Trump was running for president of the United States, he was a reality TV star who pitched a show called "Donald Trump Presents the Most Beautiful Women in the World." Slate reports that Trump pitched the show to ABC in 1993.
In his very Trump-esque pitch letter to ABC executives, Trump attempted to sell his plan for a yearly TV special that would consist of interviews with beautiful, famous women. In the letter Trump wrote,
Always interested in TV ratings, Trump included a post-script where he emphasized his belief that the show would go over well with viewers, saying, "I’ll bet it gets one of the top five highest ratings of the year!"
Slate was provided with the pitch letter by a Travis Vogan, a University of Iowa professor who chanced upon the letter last year.
Obviously the show was never made, leaving Trump with ample time to get interested in other hobbies, like politics. So thanks a lot, ABC.
