Dodge Charger Hellcat Tops List of Most-Stolen Vehicles

The muscle car is 60 times more likely to be stolen than any car made between 2020 and 2022.

The Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat is 60 times more likely to be stolen than any other car manufactured between 2020 and 2022.

The news comes courtesy of Highway Loss Data Institute's list of the most-stolen vehicles for 2020-2022 models. The ranking is determined by collecting data from vehicle theft claims made to insurance companies across the U.S.

"If you own a Hellcat, you better check your driveway," Matt Moore HLDI senior vice president said in a statement on the institute's website. "These numbers are unbelievable."

Dodge Charger topped among models with the highest incidents of theft

Highest incidents of theft per 1,000 for the 2020-22 model years, according to the Highway Loss Data Institute:

2. Dodge Charger Hemi
3. Infiniti Q50
4. Dodge Challenger

The Infiniti Q60, which was the most stolen car between 2017 and 2019, only had two theft claims out of every 1,000 models insured.

Rounding out the top 10 are the Dodge Charger Hemi, Infiniti Q50, Dodge Challenger, Land Rover Range Rover 4WD, Kia Sportage, Land Rover Range Rover Sport 4WD, Kia Sportage 4WD, Honda CR-V 4WD, and BMW's X6 4WD.

Meanwhile, when it comes to the least-stolen vehicles, the top 10 features four Tesla models, as well as the Volvo XC90 4WD, GMC Acadia 4WD, Volvo XC40 4WD, Chevrolet Trailblazer 4WD, Lexus UX 250 hybrid 4WD, and Volvo XC60 4WD.
