‘Gonna Tell My Kids’ Meme Is Ready to Confuse Children of the Future

The internet strikes again.

The world’s future kids might be a little perplexed by a history-based meme that’s circulating on Twitter. For the meme, Twitter users pair a largely irrelevant image with a famous person’s name—and sometimes object—and caption the tweet, “Gonna tell my kids this was.” Some have compared characters from the Shia LaBeouf-starring movie Holes with Brockhampton, Tyler, the Creator with Barack Obama, and Lana del Rey and ASAP Rocky with John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy.
