A Republican State Representative in Mississippi stands accussed of assaulting his wife for not making expeditious preparations for some hanky-panky time.

BuzzFeed Newsreports 58-year-old Douglas McLeod was arrested in his Lucedale home after authorities were informed about a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, police officers reportedly found him to be drunk, holding a glass of alcohol. An incident report also revealed he had "slurred speech and walked slowly in a zigzag pattern."

McLeod's wife whose face, neck, and arms were allegedly covered in blood, was found trembling in fear of her husband, saying, "This is what happens when he drinks too much." Another woman who was staying at the house told police the incident was caused by McLeod's anger, saying the father of three wasn't happy with how slowly his wife was removing her clothes for sex.

In an effort to escape danger, McLeod's wife—who is unnamed in news reports—locked herself in the room with the other woman, to which the lawmaker responded by banging on the door and threatening to "kill her fucking dog."

Some politicians are calling for Rep. McLeod's resignation. In a statement, Republican House Speaker Philip Gunn said he has "attempted to contact Rep. McLeod to request his resignation, if in fact, these allegations are true. These actions are unacceptable for anyone."
