London-based label Studio Nicholson has unveiled its new collection for Spring/Summer 2023, a line that nods to American sportswear and the luxury Italian fashion house, Armani.

Inspired by the elegance of vintage Armani and the free-for-all nature of New York inner city, the collection’s theme is referenced through high-quality materials and gracious cuts imbued with maximum wearability. Plush leather anoraks and workwear-inspired outerwear in soft pastel hues are just some of the standout this season, as well as form-fitting shirting with playful double pleat pants, which also catch the eye.

The collection also offers an update on transitional attire, featuring utilitarian trench coats, lightweight plaid sets, and warm weather essentials for summertime getaways. Knits are also cropped at the high bicep to echo the glory days of late ‘70s sportswear, while futureproof classics sit comfortably within the tried and tested Studio Nicholson method for dressing.

Another point of inspiration for Studio Nicholson’s founder, Nick Wakeman, was American artist Jean Michel Basquiat. Throughout the offering, the designer has echoed the iconic artist’s concealed yet confident path through everyday life.

Take a look through the lookbook in the shots below. Studio Nicholsons’ full SS23 collection is available now from the brand’s webstore.
