ROA has just released its Fall/Winter 2023 campaign, shot on location in the hamlet of Dungeness. Continuing to reference the latest innovations from the world of technical outdoor gear, the collection is showcased against the straits of Dover, a home where a distinctive and delicate ecosystem thrives.

The seasonal line-up focuses on a range of hybrid layering options and street-friendly designs. Outerwear and knits appear in various shades of goldenrod, khaki and black, while a zip-up fleece and matching gilet appears in a cosy shearling fabric. Elsewhere, we see slim-fitting tops, cargo-esque bottoms, and an eye-catching co-ord in creamy hues.

“It was here [English artist and film maker] Derek Jarman meticulously curated his garden, transplanting cuttings from the hardy species that line the shore during his morning walks,” the campaign notes read. “He followed the advice provided by the landscape, using driftwood and water-worn stone necklaces as supports. Everything was discovered and similarly scaffolded, and then left to face the challenges posed by the extreme conditions of the landscape. Santolina and helichrysum are shaped by the wind, contributing a natural synergy to the sculptural elements of the garden that were humanly determined.”
