Infusing Dr. Martens’ designs with Rick Owens’ distinctive and exaggerated gothic aesthetic, the latest venture unfolds within the canvas of former’s forward-thinking shoe category, 14XX.
Coming as a cutting-edge reimagining for the 1460 silhouette, the DMXL Megalace boot seamlessly combines luxe Lunar leather with a distinctive Rick Owens touch. The design incorporates Owens’ signature design codes, including an exaggerated lace system that complements Dr. Martens’ ground-breaking DMXL sole.
Mirroring the boot’s inflated contours and inventive construction, the upper showcases an elongated tongue, adding a heightened sense of drama and style. “I love using our collaboration to celebrate raw and ferocious self-invented abandon like that of Sissy Misfit, blasting techno with trans power,” commented Rick Owens in a statement. “Dr. Martens always represented inspirational subculture to me, and I like honouring that tradition.”
