Following collaborations with the likes of Billionaire Boys Club, Aries, KITH and Salehe Bembury earlier this year, beloved shoemaker Clarks is now teaming up with UK pop-R&B star Jorja Smith to creatively reinterpret its Desert Nomad as a fresh mule design.
The collaborative effort replaces the shoe’s traditional upper with a new Sciarada EVOLO suede, carefully crafted with a more sustainable footprint, and recycled green laces for a contrasting finish. Released in an all-black or white colourway, signature Clarks details manifest in the form of meticulous top-stitching and crepe soles, while silver tone fobs are included to mirror Smith’s personal style.
Speaking on the release in a statement, the BRIT Award winner said: “Clarks means so much to so many different groups of people, and I am excited to have the opportunity to add to that legacy. I wanted to work on a profile that’s different but, most importantly, wearable. Overall, my style is simple and laid-back, and the shoes reflect that. They’re comfortable and casual but with a lot of individuality.”
You can cop the new ‘Desert Nomad’ on Oct. 21 from the Clarks webstore, Berwick Street flagship, and outposts in Manchester, Osaka, Tokyo and Beijing.
