Emerging London-based designer S.S. Daley—a visionary renowned for his distinct narrative-driven approach and a profound connection to British heritage in menswear—has officially unveiled a new collection for Spring/Summer 2024.
Continuing with his subversion of classic British uniformity and sexual expression, this season the Liverpool-born creative has paid homage to British artists, Lucien Freud and David Hockney, and workmen. The campaign, shot by Dham Srfiuengfung, places models as living sculptures, juxtaposed with unclothed individuals striking abstract poses, accentuating the merging of artistry and human form.
Impeccably tailored suits sit alongside pleated shorts, delicate floral badges, and eye-catching red stitching, while vibrant hydrangeas embellish striped workwear ensembles, adding an artistic flourish. Oversized wool sweaters have been elevated with motifs of dogs and ducks, while fruit bowl motifs evoke the essence of European still life paintings.
Elsewhere, blue linen suiting and textured brown variations pay tribute to the iconic British school uniforms, culminating in the collection’s finale of multi-pocketed coats adorned with splashes of purple, blue, and yellow paint.
