A collision of tradition and evolution.

After teaming up with Japanese label RAMIDUS for a series of oversized tote bags, Detroit-born offshoot Carhartt WIP returns with a new collection for Fall/Winter 2023 inspired by its very own archives, outdoor gear, the bohemian artistry of the Bloomsbury Group, and collegiate-style layers.

At the heart of wide-spanning assembly is a series of signature stalwarts, including the classic Double Knee Pant and coveted Active Jacket, which form an unyielding backbone that exudes both heritage and contemporary flair. A striped motif inspired by the lining found inside the brand’s chore coat also plays a key role across wool-based outerwear and shirts, as well as cotton jersey staples and accessories, while work-inspired denim, in a myriad weights and washes, are reintroduced once more.

Elsewhere, military-inspired pieces arrive in the form of a upgraded classic MA-1 and MA-2 bomber jackets, as well as a bib and cargo pant hybrid. In this facet of the collection, Paisley-emblazoned items in soft corduroy and plush fleece are featured alongside tonal T-shirts, sweats, beanies, and outerwear.

References to Ivy League silhouettes can also be seen in pieces like the Work Varsity Bomber—which is constructed from robust wool fabric and accented by embroidered typography—and knitted Stanford Sweater. Elements of plaid tie-up the seasonal offering, replicated as graphic fills on sweats.
