Timberland has released its most eco-innovative collection for FW21 in ‘Earthkeepers by Raeburn’. Revered designer and Timberland’s global creative director, Christopher Raeburn reimagined the brand’s authentic heritage through the lens of his sustainably-focussed mindset.
Having been sustainability-obssessed way before it became a buzzword for brands ever since graduating from London’s Royal College of Art back in 2006, this collection is the result of a conscious collaboration with the brand since Raeburn started working with them in 2018.
The capsule fuses innovation and progressive style together by using natural and recycled materials—including Regenerative Leather and Recycled Down—with the collection a key step towards Timberland’s vision for all of its products to have a net positive impact on nature by 2030.
“The Earthkeepers by Raeburn collection is really our pathfinder,” says Raeburn, “an always evolving experiment to bring together responsible design, innovation and a unique archival approach to product creation. I’m incredibly excited about the FW21 capsule, which brings a more progressive edge to the Timberland brand while pushing boundaries as we work toward a greener future.”
The unisex range encompasses footwear, apparel and accessories, with a distinct focus on refined wardrobe essentials and an ethos of providing exactly what the consumer needs and nothing more—as wearable on the streets as it is in the great outdoors.
The collection’s GreenStride™ Edge Waterproof Boots feature soles are made from 75% renewable sugarcane and natural rubber from trees, with lining made from 50% recycled plastic. There’s also am oversized puffer jacket filled with entirely recycled down feathers, with regenerative leather used throughout the capsule sourced from farms using regenerative agricultural practices.
