September was a great month for memes, thanks to a terrible referee, the release of the iPhone 5, Honey Boo Boo, school starting, and more. While some memes resurfaced in new ways, others are brand new. All humorously commemorate these crazy, uncertain times we live in. Now that October's here, we decided to look back at last month's culture highlights through The 25 Funniest Memes Of September 2012.
Drunk Baby
25. Drunk Baby
While Babies in Bars also became popular this month, the Drunk Baby meme takes the cake. Just look at this kid! He's twisted and saying exactly what's on his mind.
NFL Replacement Ref
24. NFL Replacement Ref
This meme is the result of a terrible call by a replacement referee to end the Packers vs. Seahawks game. Some say it was one of the worst calls in NFL history.
Priority Peter
23. Priority Peter
Priority Peter only has one priority, and it's his graphing calculator. Forget the babes around him, it's all about MATH.
Google Maps Is The Best
22. Google Maps Is The Best
Upon the announcement and release of iOS 6 and the iPhone 5, the world learned that Google Maps would no longer be included. While this meme isn't necessarily new, as this shot's from the 2005 "Chronicles of Narnia (Lazy Sunday)" SNL skit, it still resonates with the people who feel that Google Maps really is the best (true dat, double true!).

Tard The Grumpy Cat
21. Tard The Grumpy Cat
Introduced to the internet by Reddit user Cataliades, Tard the Grumpy Cat is exactly what his name suggests — a grumpy, irritable animal. He's so grumpy (but somehow still endearing) that he's been memed many times over.
Bibi And The Bomb
20. Bibi And The Bomb
Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a mini-faux pas at the 67th United Nations General Assembly on September 27th, where he drew a red line on the graphic of a bomb used to represent Iran's nuclear program. The line represents a point where he believes the international community should tell Iran that they will not be allowed to pass without intervention. It became a meme overnight.
Cruel Summer Celebrity Facebook Statuses
19. Cruel Summer Celebrity Facebook Statuses
This one came from us, and it's a fun take on lyrics from G.O.O.D. Music's Cruel Summer album. You're welcome.
Eastwooding
18. Eastwooding
Even if you missed this year's Republican National Convention, chances are you still heard about Clint Eastwood talking to a chair on stage, imagining that an invisible Barack Obama was sitting in it. It looked like more of a ridiculous performance than anything, and the term "Eastwooding" quickly entered the lexicon, referring to any lame act of chastising an invisible person in a chair.
Pitch Perfect
17. Pitch Perfect
Even if the film Pitch Perfect just came out on September 28th, it's already stirred up enough online chatter and excitement to yield a ton of memes. The story follows an all-girl acapella group competing against an all-guy group, and as you can imagine, hilarious Glee-like drama ensues.
Senior Freshman
16. Senior Freshman
You know what we're talking about with the "Senior Freshman" meme. We'll just call the gap in understanding, "generational differences."
NYC Sodaban
15. NYC Sodaban Chubbasaurusrex
September 13th marked the NYC soda ban, which in six months will mean that any sweetened drink above 16 oz. is banned everywhere in New York City. The Chubbasaurusrex is clearly not happy about this, but most people realize they can just get two 16 oz. drinks and keep it moving.

Dos Equis Man
14. Dos Equis Man
The Dos Equis Man is famous for saying, "I don't always drink beer, but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis," and it has since spawned many memes and sub-memes. Joseph Gordon Levitt appeared on Saturday Night Live on September 22nd, where he played the Dos Equis Man, Magic Mike, and many other characters. It only seems right that the Dos Equis Man meme would reappear for JGL's big moment.

Billie Joe Armstrong's Meltdown
11. Billie Joe Armstrong's Meltdown
Last week, Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong had a meltdown onstage at the iHeartRadio music festival in Las Vegas. After he was told he only had one more minute on stage, he went on a rant complaining that Green Day's set was cut short compared to other acts on the bill. At the end of it, he smashed his guitar. Not long after, his rep released a statement saying that he's "seeking treatment for substance abuse."
Griffining
9. Griffining
Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III led a surprising 40-32 road victory in the opening week of the NFL season. After scoring an 88-yard touchdown, he leaned up from the ground and threw his hands in the air, creating the now famous "Griffining" move. Some argue that Griffining is the new Tebowing.
Imminent Ned
8. Imminent Ned
Eddard “Ned” Stark from HBO's Game of Thrones has long been a meme, always including the phrase, "Brace Yourselves, ____ is Coming." This month, Imminent Ned is here to remind us that it's the season for pumpkin-flavored everything. Thanks for having our back, Ned.
Honey Boo Boo
7. Honey Boo Boo
Honey Boo Boo, star of TLC's TV show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo and former Toddlers and Tiaras cast member, has been making waves online since the show's premiere in August. The memes have been going strong this month, as the show gets increasingly hilarious and ridiculous. How else would you expect the Internet to react to a young girl who does beauty pageants and drinks a combo of Mountain Dew and Red Bull like it's nothing?

2. Lil Wayne "He Can't Save You"
In case you missed it, Lil Wayne is suing Quincy Jones III over the allegedly unauthorized use of certain tracks (like "Lollipop" and "A Milli") in 2009 documentary, The Carter. Over the summer, this deposition tape of him was recorded, and thanks to TMZ, we can all enjoy how much Wayne really doesn't give a fuck. The best line of the tape happens when Wayne tells the lawyer, "He can't save you," referring to the judge.
